It would stand to reason that JECS would modify their parts over time to better handle changing fuel trends and to take advantage to newer production processes. However, I have no evidence to support the idea that the 1M51 injectors are anything more than a new part number. If someone wanted to conduct a similar cutaway on an 1M51 that would be great. Now I have sent an email to JECS asking them if they have any product info for the 1M51 and 1M50's. We'll see if I get a response. I've also done a little Google Scholar searching but haven't found any specific references to the two injectors or modifications to any injector to show improved ethanol resistance.
